the fictional name of the shoe manufacturer kyoto kicks served as the starting point for the research. japanese characters provided inspiration for the brand mark. numerous sketches and design approaches were developed based on this reference. the final brand mark is closely oriented toward the actual written form of kyoto.

wer sind wir ohne erinnerung? /// march – june 2025

who are we without memory? this question is posed directly to the viewer. memories are deeply intertwined with our identity and perception, often existing as fragments we must piece back together. on the poster, these fragments appear as body parts, while the tape symbolizes the attempt to hold on to what is fleeting. the animation introduces transience as an additional design dimension. It underscores how memory shifts over time, continually reshaped by the addition or loss of individual fragments.

mid century desginclassics /// october – december 2023

this catalog presents three iconic mid-century seating designs. the inverted texts offer deeper insight into the materials that define each piece. special emphasis is placed on fiberglass and veneer, as both materials opened up entirely new possibilities in furniture design. the detailed close-up images in the catalog, along with the visuals on the dust jacket, serve as a compelling visual counterpart to the accompanying texts.

wild london /// august – november 2025

the aim of this book is to experience london from the perspective of its animals: how do they perceive the city? what do they pay attention to, which senses guide their perception, and what risks do they face? through essays and dialogues, we gain a deeper insight into their point of view. this publication was made possible by the collective image and text material gathered by the entire class. a detailed exploration of twenty-two animals is presented both textually and visually – a blend of interpretation, research, and imagination.

in and around the national library of france, lived routines and systems of order become visible. although the library and its books hold a strong fascination, an urge eventually emerges to break away from these recurring routines. thoughts begin to wander. they take on a life of their own, strolling and racing, until the books beginnen to dance. documentary photographs, sketches, and distorted images shape the publication. the focus lies not only on the library and its visitors, but also on the worlds into which our thoughts can lead us.

squares in space /// august – september 2023

based on black and white squares, this series was developed according to rules that are both strict and playful. at its core lies the question of how one image influences the next, and how the entire series functions as a coherent whole. considering which components remain constant and which vary led to logical, comprehensible progressions.
