Surveillance /// 2026
This body of work engages with the theme of surveillance. It addresses the vast quantity of existing image material and its ongoing relevance. A column was covered with surveillance imagery. The minimal differences within the image series, originating from cameras around the world, point to the omnipresence of these images. The vertical and continuous form of the column reinforces this idea.
In another part of the work, an engagement with numbers and text takes place. The sentences emerged under the influence of the image material, while the numbers can be read as a metaphor for surveillance and data collection.
In the third part of the work, individual surveillance images were given more time and space by being printed on wallpaper. In this way, greater attention is granted to the single image, allowing it to emerge from the mass.
