The fictional name of the shoe manufacturer Kyoto Kicks served as the starting point for the research. Japanese characters provided inspiration for the brand mark. Numerous sketches and design approaches were developed based on this reference. The final brand mark is closely oriented toward the actual written form of Kyoto.
